Rishikesh, cradled in the Himalayan foothills on the banks of the Ganges, is the world capital of yoga — and this journey takes you straight to its heart. You will spend twelve days living and practising at a renowned ashram: morning and evening yoga, guided meditation, pranayama and lectures on yoga philosophy, framed by the river, the forested hills and the unhurried rhythm of ashram life. This is an individual journey, available year-round and designed for one or two travellers — a retreat shaped around you, not a group timetable.
Airport welcome, transfer to your hotel and time to rest before the journey north.
A scenic drive into the Himalayan foothills, check-in at the ashram, your first meditation and a welcome dinner.

Your afternoons and free time are yours to wander. Rishikesh rewards the curious: watch the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony on the riverbank, cross the famous Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula suspension bridges, and explore the Beatles Ashram, where the band stayed in 1968 and whose walls are now covered in murals. Treat yourself to an Ayurvedic massage, linger in riverside tea houses and lose yourself in the bazaars. For the more adventurous, optional extras include rafting on the Ganges, trekking in the surrounding hills and trips to nearby waterfalls.
Not included: international flights, Indian visa, travel insurance, tips, personal expenses and extra services. Practical notes: your passport should be valid for at least 6 months; an Indian visa is required; bring comfortable clothing for practice.
