Itinerary

15 days, day by day

Day 1

Arrival in Delhi

Transfer to your hotel, time to rest and gently ease into the rhythm of India.

Day 2

Old Delhi: mosque, bazaars and rickshaws

Jama Masjid, a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, the Khari Baoli spice market and the Red Fort.

Day 3

Delhi → Jaipur

Drive to the “Pink City”: the City Palace, the Jantar Mantar observatory and the Albert Hall Museum.

Day 4

Jaipur: Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort and craftsmanship

The Palace of Winds, a jeep or elephant ride up to Amber Fort, Jal Mahal and a block-printing workshop.

Day 5

Jaipur → Pushkar

A stroll through the colourful bazaar and the atmosphere of this small holy town.

Day 6

Pushkar: camels, the lake and temples

A camel ride, the Brahma Temple, sacred Pushkar Lake and the Savitri Temple.

Day 7

Pushkar → Ranthambore

Afternoon drive to the national park.

Day 8

Ranthambore: tiger safaris

Two safaris (morning and afternoon) in one of the world’s finest places to spot the Bengal tiger.

Day 9

Ranthambore → Agra via Fatehpur Sikri

En route, Emperor Akbar’s former red-sandstone capital.

Day 10

Agra: the Taj Mahal at sunrise and an overnight train

The Taj Mahal at dawn, Agra Fort, Itmad-ud-Daulah, then an air-conditioned overnight train to Varanasi.

Day 11

Varanasi: the old city and Ganga Aarti

Assi Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat, ancient temples and the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony on the Ganges.

Day 12

Boat cruise on the Ganges and Sarnath

A sunrise boat cruise, then an afternoon in Sarnath — where the Buddha delivered his first teaching.

Day 13

Varanasi → Delhi

Flight to Delhi, overnight stay.

Day 14

New Delhi and farewell dinner

Qutb Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, the Lotus Temple, India Gate and a celebratory dinner with the group.

Day 15

Airport transfer

Farewell to India and the journey home.

What you never have to worry about

International flights to Delhi are not included — we are happy to help you find the best tickets. The tour does not run from 1 July to 1 October (Ranthambore National Park is closed during that period). The order of sightseeing may change for logistical or weather reasons.
